Privacy
This policy describes what the Rider's Transporthers website and apps actually collect today.
It is still being finalized and its effective date has not been set yet.
Questions about your information:
support@riderstransporthersllc.com.
What the apps collect
- Your account: name, email address and phone number, given at registration.
- Your trips: pickup and destination addresses, the distance and
time of the ride, the fare, and any message sent between rider and driver.
- Location: the driver's position while the driver is online in the
Driver app (so nearby ride requests can be matched) and while a ride is running, so the
rider can see the car coming and the mileage can be measured. It is stored with the
driver's account and with the trip. Riders choose pickup and drop off by typing or
searching an address; the Rider app does not read the rider's own device location.
- Where you ride: the city, state and ZIP code you give at registration
(all optional). The office sees totals by city and state, not individual people, to
understand where interest is.
- Payment: handled by Stripe. Card numbers and security codes are
typed into Stripe's own form and are never stored by Rider's Transporthers. What is
kept is the card brand, the last four digits and Stripe's reference.
- Drivers only: the documents required to drive, including a license,
vehicle registration, insurance and proof of the right to work. They are held so an
administrator can approve the account.
- Drivers only, the application: date of birth, home address, driver's
license number and expiry, vehicle details (make, model, year, color, plate and VIN),
insurance company, policy number and dates, years of driving experience, an emergency
contact, the authorization for background and driving record checks, and the Social
Security Number and bank account details (bank name, routing and account number) that
the application asks for. These are stored in the driver's own account record, which only that
driver and the company's administrators can read.
- Drivers only, the profile photo: a photo taken with the phone camera
and stored with the application. Our server checks it is a clear, well lit photo of one
face. That check measures picture quality only: it is not face recognition.
- Identity verification: when an identity check is required, it is done
by Stripe Identity, which compares a photo of a government ID with a live selfie. The ID
and selfie images stay with Stripe; this company keeps only the result, the reason if it
failed, and a one way code that cannot be turned back into a face or a name.
- Driver tax documents: the year end tax form Stripe produces for a
driver is stored on our server so that driver can download it.
- Support messages: what you write in the Support window, kept so the
office can answer in the same conversation. A complaint sent with the rider complaint form
is emailed to support@riderstransporthersllc.com.
- Reservations: the name, phone, email, pickup, destination, date,
time and notes you enter when you request a reservation.
- Phone calls between rider and driver: connected through the
company's own number (Twilio), so neither side sees the other's personal number.
- Child rides: on a ride booked for a child, the parent or guardian who
booked it may watch a live view of the inside of the car. It goes phone to phone and is
not recorded or stored.
What is never collected
Full card numbers, CVV or security codes, and card PINs are never stored by this
company or written into its database.
Who it is shared with
Your driver sees what they need to complete your ride. Stripe processes payments.
Nothing is sold to anybody.
These services handle information for us, only to run the apps:
- Google Firebase: sign in (your password is held by Firebase
Authentication, not in our database), the account and trip database, and storage for
uploaded documents and photos.
- Google Maps: address search and maps in the apps.
- Google Translate: only if you choose a language with the Language
button, the page text is translated by Google.
- Stripe: card payments, driver payouts and tax forms, and identity
verification.
- Twilio: the private phone calls between rider and driver.
- Our email provider: emails to drivers about their application, and
complaints sent to support.
- Anthropic (Claude): only in the separate Rider's Healthcare support
chat, when it is switched on, to suggest answers from the published support FAQ. A person
in the office can take over any conversation.
