Version 1.0. This is how the feature works and what is expected of you while driving. It is an operational and privacy notice, not legal advice, and it does not give anybody legal protection.
1. Purpose. The Live Safety Camera is a safety feature for Minor/Child rides. It lets the authorised parent or guardian who booked the ride see the inside of the vehicle, live, while the trip is running.
2. When it applies. Only on an active Minor/Child ride. Adult rides are not affected in any way, and the camera does not exist on them.
3. Live video. Your front-facing camera may provide a live interior view to the authorised parent or guardian who booked that ride. You do not receive access to their viewing screen, and you are not shown who is watching beyond the fact that somebody is.
4. No audio. The camera is video only. The microphone stays off and is never requested.
5. No recording. Riderโs Transporthers does not record, store, upload or provide playback of the live safety video. There is no video library, and nothing is kept for anybody to watch later.
6. Authorised viewer. Only the signed-in parent or guardian account authorised for that Minor/Child trip may view it. Other riders, other drivers and anybody else cannot.
7. Camera indicator. You are always told when the camera is live, by the indicator already in the app. If it is on your screen, the camera is on.
8. Automatic stop. The session ends by itself when the guardian stops watching or when the Minor/Child trip ends. It is stopped by the system, not left to a screen being closed.
9. Connection security. The video uses the existing secure WebRTC connection between the two devices. A TURN relay may be used only while the authorised guardian is actively viewing. Relay credentials are temporary and are never shown to drivers or riders.
10. Driver responsibilities. Do not intentionally disable, block, cover, disconnect or interfere with a required safety camera while carrying a Minor/Child. Keep your phone positioned so the safety view can work, and so that nothing about it interferes with driving safely. Your first duty is always to drive safely: never adjust the phone while the vehicle is moving.
11. Identity verification. Your identity selfie and eye verification are a separate system from this camera. The eye scan confirms who you are. It is not drowsiness detection, not eye tracking, and not driving monitoring.
12. Privacy. Access to the live safety feature is limited to the authorised participants in that trip, and the least information necessary is used to operate it and to audit it afterwards.
13. Safety logs. The system may keep safety-event information such as the trip id, the driver id, who was authorised to view, when a session started and ended, and technical or security events. The live video itself is not recorded or stored.
14. Policy changes. Riderโs Transporthers may update this policy when needed for safety, privacy or technical reasons. If it changes, you will be asked to read and acknowledge the new version.
